Use this
guide to determine how serious an emergency you
have.
| If your pet has any of these symptoms, bring it in

- Remember that animals in pain
will bite, even the owners they love. You can restrain their head
by holding them by the nape of the neck. Dogs that are not having
trouble breathing can have their mouths tied shut with an old nylon
knee high stocking. Take precautions, you don't want to make a trip
to the emergency room for yourself too!
- For bleeding, pressure over the
area with a clean cloth will suffice. Never use a
tourniquet.
- Pets that may have serious
spinal, chest, or abdominal injuries are best transported on a
blanket or towel to minimize trauma.
