Stem cell Therapy
We are excited to be offering this state of the art regenerative procedure to our list of services. Stem cells are pluripotent cells, capable of producing any tissue in the body. At this time, we are using them to provide pain relief and increased mobility to dogs and cats suffering from degenerative arthritis. Since the cells are harvested from the fat of the recipient, we eliminate any chance of rejection. We do the processing "in house", which means this requires only a one day stay in the hospital! While this isn't a cure for arthritis, it has an extremely high success rate in reducing pain and discomfort, in most animals providing relief for up to, and over, two years, and if needed, they can be treated again..
The stem cells harvested can be banked for future use, so if a second treatment is needed, there is no need to harvest and process the fat to recover the stem cells, we just request a vial to be sent to us for injection.
This is an exciting area, as we are just scratching the surface on the potential uses for stem cells. But for now, we are concentrating on providing relief to our beloved pets creaky old joints!

Microchips Microchipping involves placing a
small transceiver under the skin of your dog. This chip sends out a
unique identifier that can be read by a scanner. This provides
positive identification of your pet. After placing the chip, you
register your pet with HomeAgain, which maintains a database of
yours and your pet’s information. Should your pet get lost, any
shelter or veterinarian with a scanner can identify your pet, and
help you recover them. These chips have also been used in court,
when an ownership dispute occurs. We highly recommend all dogs be
microchipped. |

Ultrasound and Echocardiographic
Procedures Ultrasound is a non-invassive way to look inside an
animal. Being able to see organs as they function provides
invaluable information for the diagnosis and treatment of numerous
diseases. Often, little or no sedation is required, making
this a very safe and painless procedure for your pet. |
Dentistry Often
overlooked, preventative dental care can help your pet live a
longer and healthier life. We provide complete dental
prophylaxis, and recommend it be done at least once a year starting
at age 3. ReferralsWe have an excellent working relationship with numerous
specialists in the fields of internal medicine, surgery,
cardiology, dermatology, and ophthalmology. These specialists all
work within the Richmond area, and provide a valuable service to
our clients, when needed. They are all board certified, which means
that they have spent 4 to 6 years, after graduating from veterinary
school, to study in their chosen areas, and then had to pass a
rigorous board exam to become certified. The Richmond community is
very fortunate to have this expertise available to
them. Emergency Care Please
